Sherborne’s efforts in 2007 were rewarded with a Gold award for ‘Best Small Town’ in the South West Region Britain in Bloom awards. Plus we won three splendid cups:

  • An overall Gold award ‘In the floral campaign to beautify the cities, towns and villages of Southwest England.’
  • The South West Tourism Association Cup
  • The Gordon Ford Trophy for the best market town
  • The City Of Bath Trophy (for landscaping) for the Paddock Garden

Caroline Rowland, Sally Westlotorn and Val Todd are pictured here at St Ives where the presentations took place.

Our success was due to the efforts of hundreds of people in the town. Thank you, everyone!

South West In Bloom
This year the town was unable to compete in the South West in Bloom competition, after reaching and maintaining the highest standard of excellence winning four GOLD awards over four consecutive years; bringing to the town the highest accolade it can gain. There is much hope that next year the town can rejoin the competition and go one step further and reach the national UK Britain in Bloom finals.
