Winter at the Allotments

Just because it’s cold, rainy and just plain miserable, it doesn’t mean that work stops at the allotments.

Norman Crabb likes watching men at work and he’s taken these lovely photographs of a winter allotment scene.

January Freeze!

Winter’s weather this year has been exceptionally cold and it’s the frost-bitten plants that attract our attention.

On a crisp, cold winter day Nature shows us some of her marvels. Even commonplace objects can be transformed by the cold. Here’s a spider’s web found in the corner of a Sherborne garden:

Frost At The Pageant

Winter changes the landscape and our familiar places can take on a strange beauty. The recent frosty weather gives the Pageant Gardens a ‘winter wonderland’ atmosphere:
