Your Help Needed!

Sherborne has a wonderful history; do you have suggestions for any notable historical events or celebrations, which could form a theme for this year’s entry?

Is there a derelict area of land near you, which could be improved? Nominations are being taken now for this years ‘Adopt-a-Plot’.

Is there anyone who would like to run this year’s Sunflower Competition?

No Butts! Anyone up for a challenge? Can you find a water butt company who would be prepared to donate butts to our gardeners?

Fund-raisers wanted! Got a successful fund-raising idea and would like to help Sherborne in Bloom? Give us a call for this or any other ideas, observations or comments. REMEMBER! Being a Gold winner of South West in Bloom means there is a chance that this year Sherborne could be chosen to enter the annual ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition to become the best small town in Britain.

So if you like meeting people, having fun, and want to share some time with others gardening together, and help Sherborne’s entry, then contact Caroline Rowland Sherborne in Bloom Co-ordinator, Sherborne Area Partnership, C/o The Manor House, Newland, or phone 01935 816961 or email c.rowland@sherborne-tc.gov.uk

South West In Bloom
This year the town was unable to compete in the South West in Bloom competition, after reaching and maintaining the highest standard of excellence winning four GOLD awards over four consecutive years; bringing to the town the highest accolade it can gain. There is much hope that next year the town can rejoin the competition and go one step further and reach the national UK Britain in Bloom finals.
